Later Kanthirava fanams were coined by Kanthirava’s successors in Mysore (until 1761), by the Dutch at Pulicat (c. 1650) and Tuticorin (c.1658-1759), the BEIC in Madras and after the death of Tipu Sultan by Diwan Purnaiya, the regent of Mysore. AR Rupee (11.35 gm) i.n.o. Shah Alam II, AH1225/Ry.74, mint: Mysore. Dates show great irregularity for which there is no explanation. The Hijri-date most probably shows the correct date. Mintmark crescent, like of the French Pondicherry rupees. C. 207. EF.
