Mini-muntkabinet met een uiterst bijzondere verzameling, bestaande uit 153 exemplaren zilveren denarii afkomstig uit de collectie van wijlen dhr. P.H. de Ruyter. De denarii (uit de tijd van de Romeinse Republiek) zijn vervaardigd door muntmeester Lucius Julius Bursio (84-82 BC).In een uitgebreid artikel in The Numismatic Chronicle 156 (1996) pp. 79-147 staat de collectie uitvoerig beschreven. Mede hierom hebben wij besloten om deze zeer speciale collectie in zijn geheel ter veiling te brengen.Een reprint met als titel; “The Denarii of the Republian Moneyer Lucius Julius Bursio, a Die analysis” wordt bijgevoegd aan dit bijzondere en waarschijnlijk uiterst zeldzame object.A mini coin cabinet containing an extremely special collection of 153 specimens of silver denarii from the collection of the late P.H. de Ruyter. The denarii (from the time of the Roman Republic) were all made by the moneyer Lucius Julius Bursio (ca.84-82 BC).In an extensive article in The Numismatic Chronicle 156 (1996) pp. 79-147 the collection is described in detail. Partly for this reason, we have decided to bring this most unusual collection to the auction as a whole.A reprint bearing the title: THE DENARII OF THE REPUBLICAN MONEYER LUCIUS JULIUS BURSIO, A DIE ANALYSIS has been added to this extraordinary and probably very rare item.
