CHINA, Prisoners of War. Censored cover free of postage from Ottawa 17 Aug 1943 to a Dutchman in Shanghai, who was in the meantime taken prison in the Japanese internment camp ´Chapei Civil Assembly´ near Shanghai. The letter is still inside and begins with ´My dear John, I just see your name in a list of internees at Chapehol in a Dutch publication from New York, together with the names of your wife and kiddy.´ Up to now we have not come across other correspondence to a Dutch prisoner of the Japanese in an internment camp in China.
