East Coast. 5 Cent Numeral with black small overprint Dai Ni Hon at the top in combination with Su Ma To Ra (= Sumatra) at the bottom on a censored registered cover (repaired), locally sent in Medan 17.10.19. The local rate is 5 cent, the registration fee 20 cent. This combination of overprints is so far only known on the 5 cent Numeral on two covers, one from Medan (this cover) and one from Tebingtinggi-/Deli 10 August 1942. This combination of overprints is not listed in catalogues, but undoubtedly authentic

Sumatra. East Coast. 2½ Cent Kreisler with black framed Dai Ni Hon overprint and 7½ cent Dancer with black wavy framed Dai Ni Hon overprint in strip of five on a censored front of an envelope, sent registered and with advice of delivery (pink label in Dutch/French text) from Medan 18.12.29 to Penang (Malaya). Postal rate 10 cent postage + 20 cent registration fee + 10 cent advice of delivery. Very rare usage during the Japanese occupation!
