South Celebes. Cover bearing 6 stamps with black Makasser anchor overprint cancelled Makassar (Teikoku Seifu postmark) and written ´Kakitome´ (= registered), with destination Depok on the island of Java. The post office of Makasser put a label on the envelope with Indonesian text meaning that the transmission of registered post to Java has not yet been cleared by the Minseifu, therefore the cover was sent by regular mail to Soerabaja and from there it can be sent by registered mail to the addressee in Depok, which happened on 30.3.05. Most interesting postal-historical cover and an attractive exhibition item!
