South and East Borneo. 4 Cent Anchor and Cherry Blossom postcard Bu.231 written at Bandjermasin 15-3-2605, tied by straight-line pmk BANDJERMASIN and sent to Djakarta. Censor mark Bu.JC6a from Bandjermasin and red chop. Both postcard and postmark in wonderful quality!

West Borneo. 4 Cent Anchor and Cherry Blossom postcard Bu.233 from Pontianak 15.12.4.5 thus after the Japanese occupation, to Batavia-C. It is written in Dutch by a husband to his wife, awaiting her arrival

West Borneo. 4 Cent Anchor and Cherry Blossom postcard Bu.233 used after the Japanese occupation, imprint of 4 cent not cancelled, 10 and 20 cent affixed and sent by airmail from Pontianak 9.2.4.6. to Arnhem (from a brother in Borneo to his brother in Holland)

Postcard used on Java. 3½ Cent general issue for the Navy area Bu.284 written at Bandjermasin 9 Sept '03 (family affairs), not cancelled on Borneo but in Tegal -6.10.-0.3.- from there to Djakarta. The censor mark is a common type used on Java. Obviously it was faster to ask someone going to Java to mail the postcard there, than to send it through the southeast Borneo postal service!

Lesser Soenda Islands. Bali. 3½ Cent general issue for the Navy area, reply-paid card Bu.285 from Denpasar to Ampenan, tied by Teikoku Seifu pmk in lilac (type 302), censored and showing chops in red from Takeuchi and an unidentified one in violet. The card is undated, under the stamp imprint is written '4' which could indicate that the rate has increased to 4 cent (from 1 July 1944). Also 3½ Cent postcard Bu.284 from Ampenan to Bandoeng

Moluccas. Ambon. Postcard used on Java. 3½ Cent general issue for the Navy area Bu.284 (some creases) written at Ambon (undated, family affairs), not cancelled on Ambon but in Soerabaja 4.6.04.16 from there to Malang. The censor mark is a common type used on Java. Obviously it was faster to ask someone going to Java to mail the postcard there, than to send it from the Moluccas!
