CHINA, Post Office Strike Shanghai. Cover written in Shanghai 25 March 1927 sent by the British Field Post Office via America by ´President Cleveland´ further to Amsterdam, because of the P.O. strike of Shanghai (pencil note on the back). Most interesting. Original letter included

CHINA, Airmail cover bearing on the back 5c, 15c, 20c (2x), 40c and 2$ registered from Shanghai 19 June 1940 via Honolulu 6 Sep 40 and New York 10 Sep 40, censored by the Germans, to its destination St. Fulgent (Vendée) in France, however on the front showing in violet the cachet ´Diverted by air via U.S.A. owing to/suspension of Air France Service.´ and in red ´Retour à l´Envoyeur/Relations Postales/Interrompues´, via New York and San Francisco 7 June 41 back to Shanghai, on 11 Dec 42 once again sent and arrived in St. Fulgent on 6 March 43. Highly interesting and historical airmail cover!
