Sumatra. East Coast. 5 Cent Numeral with black small Dai Ni Hon overprint at the top in combination with Su Ma To Ra (= Sumatra) at the bottom on a censored registered cover (repaired), locally sent in Medan 17.10.19. The local rate is 5 cent, the registration fee 20 cent. This combination of overprints is so far only known on the 5 cent Numeral on two covers, this one from Medan and the other from Tebingtinggi-/Deli 10 Aug 1942. This combination is not listed in catalogues, but undoubtedly authentic. Exhibition piece!
