(censored before sticking the registration label on the envelope), via Syonan 2603.12.10 to Shiga in Japan. Very rare usage on cover, only four covers are known. See also DN catalogue, p.247. Palembang. 5 Cent Dancer with violet small overprint IPL in frame no. 571v-70 from Pladjoe 26.11.02 via Palembang (censored, Vr.102b) to the Singer Sewing headquarters at Medan, received 7 Dec 02. Also lilac propaganda cachet 'Belilah Perangko DAI NIPPON' (= buy Japanese stamps), in all probability used at the Medan post office in December 1942 (see vNV.470, p.195). Remarkable is the 5 cent franking, which was the letter rate in South Sumatra from early October tot 31 December 1942. Scarce franking!

Revaluation. 3½ Cent postcard type Kreisler with black Dai Ni Hon Yuken two-line overprint and violet small 2- overprint, bearing 2 cent Kreisler with black Dai Ni Hon Yuken two-line overprint, written at the agricultural colony for 'non-cooperative and/or hostile indo-europeans' at Giesting on 5-2-2603, via Talangpadang 27.2.3 to Bandoeng. During January 1943 the rates were increased to 3½ cent. Therefore a 2 cent stamp was affixed because no ½ or 1½ cent stamps were available. Censored at Tandjongkarang, Bu.JC19c. A very rare postcard in excellent condition!
