Lesser Soenda Islands. Bali. 10 Cent definitive issue no. 05 as single franking on a cover from the sender Tjia Gwan Kie, Denpasar, to Tan Ling Gwan in Lawang, Java. The stamp is tied in black by the commemorative cachet for the Pasar Malam (= Evening Market) in Denpasar 2604-10-17/24, vNV.446z. Extremely rare cachet of which only 3 are recorded, 2 on postcards and on this cover the only one known. See: vN. p.101

Postage paid mark (Ryokin Chosyu Zumi = postage has already been paid) with date 27 APR 1943, above written ‘Wang segel pos f 0.10 / (sepoeloeh sen) soedah terima’ (= money for the f 0.10 (ten sen) has already been received) with signature, on commercial (printed) cover from Koepang to Soerabaja. AMBON. 7½ CENT LETTER SHEET IN OFFSET PRINT SHOWING AN OVERPRINT IN RED OF AN ANCHOR WITH DAI NI HON IN FRAME OF 16.5 x 17.5 MM, FROM A FATHER IN AMBOINA (NO DATE) TO HIS DAUGHTER IN SOERABAJA (TEXT IS ONLY ABOUT FAMILY AFFAIRS), NICE STRIKE OF THE TEIKOKU SEIFU PMK OF AMBON IN REDDISH LILAC ON THE OVERPRINT, IN THE SAME COLOUR THE CENSOR MARK, INITIAL IN BLUE AND SEAL OF KONO.
