Maritime Disaster Mail. Rampstuk, tot overmaat van ramp geweigerd. Brief met bewaard gebleven interessante inhoud van Oschersleben (Bode) 6-8-1937, met het s.s. Kota Agoeng van de Rotterdamsche Lloyd vanuit Nederland op weg naar Indië, waar het schip nabij Colombo op 31-8-1937 gedeeltelijk in brand vloog en tevens waterschade opliep, maar de volgende dag toch Sabang bereikte. De brief werd naar de geadresseerde gestuurd, aankomst 10-9-1937, geweigerd ('Refuse' geschreven op az.) en op 11-9 'Returned to afzender'. Voorzien van getypte label op dun wit papier, Hoggarth & Gwynn type 2, waarvan slechts enkele exemplaren bekend zijn geworden. Zeldzaam!

Since on 1 July the rate for postcards was increased to 5 cent, a T has been cancelled next to the stamp

POW. 3½ Sen Kreisler postcard Bu.3b written on 10.5.03 by a husband in the Struijswijk camp (Batavia) to his wife in Djakarta, tied by a machine cancellation of Batavia-/Centrum 14.5.0.-3 and showing the censor mark Bu.JC51g, and 3½ sen Kreisler postcard Bu.J11 written on 28.11.03 and tied by cds Djakarta 2.12.03 from the same correspondence, now to his wife in the Tjideng camp, showing 3 censor marks Bu.51g in black and 2 red marks. The stamp imprint is scratched by something sharp which does not seem a coincidence but must have had an emotional reason
