CHINA. Boxer Rebellion (Yìhétuán Yùndòng) 1899-1901. Cover from Amsterdam 19 July 1900 to a sailor 2nd class aboard the Dutch armored ship ´Holland´, then in Hong Kong or China. The Dutch Navy had been pulled out to defend the Dutch interests in China. On the front and reverse of the cover a great number of postal cancellations and notes. Added is a well-documented article on this historical event by Dr. Han Siem (in Dutch). Most interesting cover with great historical value

Cover franked with 25 on 5c overprint Sun Yat Sen in pair, issued in Central China during the Japanese occupation, from Shanghai 22 Feb 1943 to a Dutch prisoner in the Japanese internment camp ´Chapei Civil Assembly´ near Shanghai. Up to now we have not come across other correspondence to a Dutch prisoner of the Japanese in an internment camp in China. Very rare
