'N.P.B. / A / 15 JY 76' (News Paper Branche?). 50 Cent to make up the rate for letters between 0-15 grams (from 16 Feb 1876 until 1 May 1877) on cover (opened on 3 sides) from Hellevoetsluis 13 July 1876 to a frie starter 1st class on the steamship Zilverkruis at Curaçao or somewhere else, arrival pmk 5 Aug 1876. However a line has been drawn over the stamps with a pen (where, when and by who?), obviously because of insufficiently paid postage. On the back also a rectangular postmark from London (?) 'N.P.B. / A / 15 JY 76' (News Paper Branche?). We know of 3 such covers from the Netherlands to Curaçao from July 1876 with stamps crossed out with a pen (photocopy of the 3rd cover added).
