POW. Japan. Malaya. Package label for printed matter from 1949 from the Japanese Red Cross in Tokyo to Japanese POW in Pudu Gaol, Kuala Lumpur, awaiting trial for war crimes. According to Dr. Norman Jacobs no POW mail was ever sent to or received from this camp, and this wrapper or part of a parcel is believed to be the only known item to survive addressed to Japanese POW at Pudu Gaol. Republik. Java. 5 Sen Savings-bank stamp (printed by G. Kolff & Co., issued in 1944), in block of four on a piece of an envelope, with handstamped two-line overprint REPOEBLIK/INDONESIA type 52 in red, used as a postage stamp and cancelled Djakarta 4.6.46. Also three proofs in different designs, different shades of blue, ungummed (see: Handbook of Revenues, Dai Nippon, p. 407, JJD-19). Very rare

Republik. Java. Postal Savings Bank Booklet no. JJD-20 with text ´Tyokin Kyoku´ from the Japanese occupation period, saved on 1 June 1946 at the Bondowoso post office, with on the inside 20 Savings-bank stamps of 5 sen, all cancelled Bondowoso 1.6.6. Scarce document!
